Working with film, especially double exposure film photography is an exercise in uncertainty – relinquishing some control of the creative process in hopes that the magic before our eyes becomes the magic on print. This project was an exploration in that uncertainty, playing with the structured form of the jewellery, and the freedom of bodies and landscapes, to make what we have here; an exploration in the freedom of form. Inspired by the ethereal, yet bold pieces, we played with shapes and colours, forever adventuring in the process.
“A face, a form and a surface ready to be scorned. Features, edges, texture, lines- all part of something bright in spite of putting up a fight. Restless, stoic, agitated are words to combine in order to express the world which I call mine.”
Today begins whole
Time shaved away into shape
Carving a sculpture
Perhaps you ache for freedom
for the blue that’s in your eye,
was given as a present
from the fabric of the sky,
and when you’re gazing skywards
It’s no wonder that you yearn,
when part of what you are made of
always wishes to return.
