GRASSROOTS ECONOMICS
Building alternative economic systems in Kenya
description

Grassroots Economics is a non-profit foundation partnering with communities to take charge of their own livelihoods and economic futures through local resource coordination and alternative economic systems.

We have worked with them on various projects since 2022, drawn by how seriously they take the distance between values and practice — they design from the ground up, and that shapes everything. That work has taken many forms, from field research and stakeholder engagement to book design, original illustration and information graphics that bring community economic concepts to life across three languages, helping translate a decade of community-led economic practice into methodology that others can adopt and build on.
